NMBCo is GO!
On the 18th of July – a hot and humid summer night we launched Northern Monk Brew Co with our first beer, a 6.2%, 60 IBU India Pale Ale with 4 hop varieties from 3 continents at The Sparrow Bier Cafe. More than 250 glasses of New World IPA were drunk by over 100 people, 1 monk and one dog.
The support and feedback we had on the night was fantastic and we are incredibly grateful to the people that came from accross the country, the local community and a number of local breweries to celebrate with us.
We owe some huge thanks to the NMBCo “brethren” involved on the night and in getting us to where we are today. Maggie aka Loaded Kitchen for kick ass tacos paired with our New World IPA and some amazing recipes to be featured on our website soon… The Northern Monketts for doing a smashing job manning our makeshift merch stall. Our Manchester connection The Layout Pad and Mediachrome for their incredible work on our branding and website. Lorne Campbell the man behind the NMBCo lens. Eject for his work on our “Northern” graffiti / street art installation (video coming soon) Jack King for some awesome video production and Joe Sadler for his secret contribution. Ashley Shinn our monk roadie, Archie the dog and secret mastermind behind NMBCo… and lastly and possibly most importantly our friends and family for putting up with us whilst we made this all come to fruition.
The star of the night was unfortunately unable to be with us, however he provided a video message for us to share on the night and with you here…
